CHURCH OPEN FOR PRIVATE PRAYER

A message from our Church Wardens:

We are pleased to announce that St Peter’s Church Goldhanger is now open on Mondays 9.00am – 12 noon and Thursdays 2.00pm – 7pm for private prayer. Effective from Monday 29th June.

When visiting, please observe all the signage and social distancing rules. Occasionally the church may not open if there is a service in the church or churchyard.

You are welcome to stay as long as you wish but we ask you to stick to some simple rules.

  • Two people or one household at a time.
  • Please use sanitising gel on entering and leaving the church. The gel is in a dispenser inside the door.
  • Please keep the door closed, this is to prevent the ingress of birds.
  • Please limit the surfaces that you touch.
  • Please remain in the designated area. Do not cross the red and white tape.
  • Please observe social distancing, 2 metres preferably, especially on entry and exit.

We look forward to welcoming you.

The Church continues to be alive and active, but our buildings must close.

We are seeing a huge increase in the number of people falling sick with COVID-19. We must distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives.

Therefore, as well as public worship being suspended, this and all church buildings in the Church of England are now closed.

Our worship of God and our care for each other continue but cannot be done in this building.

Services of daily prayer can be found here https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer which includes all the Prayers and the Bible Readings you will need – it is updated every day.

St Mary’s Maldon and the Cathedral live stream services daily on Facebook.

The churchwardens of this church can be contacted in an emergency by telephoning 07885 571087or emailing gvbunting@gmail.com.
